of Ivan Franko International Prize in 2025
Andriy Danylenko, PhD (Modern Languages and Cultures, NYC, Dyson College of Arts and Sciences) is professor and a renowned Slavist. He is Distinguished Professor at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (Ukraine). He lectured across the world, including universities in Canada, US, Iceland, Australia, France, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Japan, Great Britain, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Germany, Austria, and Ukraine. He is the founding editor of the series, Studies in Slavic, Baltic, and Eastern European Languages and Cultures (Bloomsbury Academic).
Prof. Danylenko is a recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including two Fulbright grants (2016, 2026, both at Warsaw University), Eugene and Daymel Shklar Research Fellowship (2008, Harvard University), Foreign Visiting Scholar Fellowship, Slavic-Eurasian Research Center, Hokkaido University (2009, Sapporo, Japan), “Invitation Fellowship” from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Hokkaido University (2013, Sapporo, Japan), among others.
Andriy (Andrii) Danylenko is the author and editor of dozens of books on Slavic linguistics and philology such as, to name a few, Ukrainian (co-authorship, 1995), Predicates, Cases, and Diatheses in the Ukrainian Language: Historical and Typological Dimensions (in Ukrainian, 2003), Slavica et Islamica: Ukrainian in Context (2006), Grammaticalization and Lexicalization in Slavic languages: Proceedings from the 36th meeting of the Commission on the Grammatical Structure of the Slavic Languages of the International Committee of Slavists (co-editorship, 2014) Studien zu Sprache, Literatur und Kultur bei den Slaven.
