Three Studies Shortlisted for the 2026 Ivan Franko International Prize
On 15 June 2026, the Committee of the Ivan Franko International Prize summarized the results of the expert evaluation of the works submitted for the 2026 competition.
Three scholarly works addressing key issues of Ukrainian history, culture, and language have advanced to the final stage. The authors of these studies are researchers from Canada, Poland, and Ukraine.
Based on the recommendations of the Expert Council, three publications have been shortlisted for consideration by the International Jury, which will convene in Drohobych on 25–27 August 2026:

This year, the Expert Council comprises 53 scholars from seven countries: Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, France, and the Czech Republic. Such broad geographical representation highlights the international prestige of the Prize and the growing global interest in Ukrainian humanities scholarship.
The award ceremony for the laureate and nominees of the Ivan Franko International Prize will take place on 27 August 2026, marking the 170th anniversary of Ivan Franko’s birth. On this occasion, the Ivan Franko International Foundation will hold the 10th milestone award ceremony, celebrating a decade of the Prize’s activities and underscoring its role in promoting Ukrainian scholarship and culture internationally.
